India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya ruled out of the ongoing 2023 Cricket World Cup due to an ankle injury, as confirmed by the International Cricket Council on a Saturday. Hardik sustained the injury when he twisted his ankle during India’s match against Bangladesh at Pune’s MCA Stadium on October 19. Following this incident, he was unable to participate in India’s subsequent matches against New Zealand, England, and Sri Lanka.The ICC expressed its concern over the impact of Hardik Pandya’s absence on India’s unbeaten start in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. They announced that Prasidh Krishna, a pace bowler, has been approved by the ICC’s Event Technical Committee to join the squad as Hardik’s replacement.The members of the Event Technical Committee for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 include Wasim Khan (ICC General Manager – Cricket and ETC Chair), Chris Tetley (ICC Head of Events), Hemang Amin (Acting CEO – BCCI), Gaurav Saxena (General Manager – Operations, BCCI), Russel Arnold, and Simon Doull (Independent Representatives).

Just earlier this week, India delivered a remarkable performance by defeating Sri Lanka with a massive margin of 302 runs, securing their place in the Cricket World Cup semi-finals. India scored an impressive total of 357/8, and they managed to bowl out Sri Lanka for a mere 55 runs.
